At Sydney Fox and Dingo Rescue/Sydney Dingo Rescue we are committed to public education about animal care, wildlife and the environment. SFDR/SDR run a variety of our own educational programs as well as regularly engaging in community education and outreach through public events such as markets, expos and info days.
NSW Youth Justice - Since 2018 SFDR has been lucky enough to work with NSW Youth Justice programs department to visit and educate incarcerated young people. SFDR has run a variety of programs for NSW Youth Justice including dingo biology and ecology, responsible pet ownership and animal health and first aid courses.
School and Preschool Talks - SFDR travel across NSW and the ACT to give a variety of education talks for children and young people aged 4-18. These talks generally focus on dingoes, ecology and caring for the environment. Incursion talks are typically 20-60min but can be adapted to suit different school groups. We can give multiple talks in one day, but recommend groups of 30 students or less for each talk. We can often bring kid-friendly dingoes to our incursions. To find out more about how we can come to your school email info@sfdr.org
School Holiday Camps- SFDR travel across NSW and the ACT to give incursion talks for school holiday programs. These talks generally focus on dingoes, ecology and caring for the environment. Incursion talks are typically 60-120min but can be adapted to suit different school holiday programs. We can often bring kid-friendly dingoes to our incursions. SFDR recently started working with the Future Vet Kids Camp to teach their older attendees about dingo anatomy and physiology.
